Our Green Tea Extract is a natural functional extract centered on tea polyphenols (the core active component of green tea). It concentrates the health-care ingredients of green tea, with clear efficacy in antioxidant, anti-aging, and metabolic regulation, making it suitable for health products, food additives, and daily chemical applications.
Tea Polyphenols (abbreviated as GTP), also known as antioxidants, polyphenols, or anti-Harrington, are the general term for polyphenolic compounds in tea. They are a complex mixture of more than 30 kinds of phenolic substances, and their main components are catechins and their derivatives—these are the key to the health-care functions of Green Tea Extract.
The composition of tea polyphenols in our Green Tea Extract is clear and standardized, mainly including 6 types of compounds:
- Flavanones: The most important category, accounting for 60%-80% of total tea polyphenols, with catechins as the main form.
- Anthocyanins
- Flavonols
- Flavonoids
- Phenolic acids
- Phenolic acid derivatives
Among them, flavanones (dominated by catechins) determine the core efficacy of the extract, while flavonoids are the second most abundant component; other phenolic substances play a synergistic role.
Green tea itself is the tea variety with the highest tea polyphenol content, and our extract retains this advantage—tea polyphenols account for 15%-30% of the extract’s quality. This high concentration ensures the extract has strong physiological activity, far exceeding the efficacy of drinking green tea directly.
Tea Polyphenols in the extract have stable physical and chemical properties, making it easy to process and use:
- Easily soluble in water, which is convenient for adding to beverages, health product solutions, etc.
- Can be dissolved in organic solvents such as ethanol, methanol, acetone, and ethyl acetate, suitable for different production processes.
